Location Information

St. Crespin is a village and commune 9 miles (14 kilometres) south-west of Lisieux, and 4 kilometres south of the N.13 main road from Lisieux to Caen. There are 3 Commonwealth burials of the 1939-1945 war here, 10 yards north-west of the church tower.


Burial Details


1387775 Flight Sergeant Alexander David Neish, Pilot in 122 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 7th June 1944, aged 22. Son of Frederlck Alexander Neish and Hannah Neish, of Lochee, Dundee. His headstone bears the inscription "Home Is The Sailor, Home From Sea, And The Hunter Home from The Hill"

14243886 Sapper Harold Henry Taylor, Royal Engineers, died 10th September 1944, aged 41. Son of Henry Thomas Taylor and Mary Jane Taylor; husband of Violet Grace May Taylor, of Forest Gate, Essex. His headstone bears the inscription "All That Beauty, All That Wealth E'er Gave, Awaits Alike Th'Inevitable Hour" 

14371146 Sapper Harold Percy David Willis, Royal Engineers, died 10th September 1944, aged 39. Son of David Henry and Lydia Jane Willis; husband of Florence Violet Willis, of Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire. His headstone bears the inscription "In Loving Memory Of A Dear Husband. Deep In Our Hearts His Memory Lives"
