St. Aubin-lès-Elbeuf is a small town 11 miles (18 kilometres) south of Rouen, on the opposite bank of the River Seine to Elbeuf, which is a fairly large town. There is a railway station with services to and from Rouen and Caen; and there are bus services to and from Rouen, Bernay, Pont-Audemer and Caen. The communal cemetery is in the Rue de Verdun, which is on the north side of the town and the railway line. Some 25 yards north of the Conservateur's house and the entrance to the cemetery is the grave of a British soldier.

Son of Fred and Edith Johnson, of Ruabon, Denbighshire; husband of Amy Johnson, of Ruabon. His headstone bears the inscription "All Through The Years Many Or Few, We Keep In Our Hearts, Sweet Memories Of You"
