Location Information

Haaften is situated below the dyke road on the north bank of the river Waal. It is 5 kilometres west of Zaltbommel which is on the 's-Hertogenbosch-Utrecht road. The cemetery is on the northern edge of the village at the junction of the Haaften, Tuil and Hellouw roads. The British grave is east of the entrance, against the northern boundary wall.

Burial Details

1888690 Sapper Sidney Cyril Barham, 91 Field Company, Royal Engineers, died 1st January 1945, aged 37. Son of Edward and Maude Barham; husband of Annie Caroline Barham, of St. Leonard's-on-Sea, Sussex. His headstone bears the inscription "Loved In Life Treasured In Death A Beautiful Memory Left. Loving Wife & Daughter Ann"
