Location Information

Écots is a village and commune 22 miles (35 kilometres) south-east of Caen, and 14 miles (23 kilometres) southwest of Lisieux. There is 1 Commonwealth burial of the 1939-1945 war here, 15 yards south-east of the church.


Burial Details

14544396 Lance Corporal Alfred Raymond Hope, 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars, Royal Armoured Corps, died 18th August 1944, aged 33. Son of Alfred and Letitia Hope, of Darlington, Co. Durham; husband of Alice Ivy Hope, of Darlington. His headstone bears the inscription He Loved Us And Give Himself For Us "Peace Perfect Peace"
