Doetinchem is a small town about 30 kilometres east of Arnhem, on the main road to Zutphen. The general cemetery known as Loolaan is north-west of the town, 300 metres north of the road to Arnhem. The graves are in the south- western corner, near the entrance.

Missing Flier Thought Dead

Parents in Windsor Receive R.C.A.F. Cable
Sergeant Thomas Edison Elliott, reported missing with the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 8, is now feared to have been killed in action, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Elliott, 327 Caron avenue, have been advised.
A cable received today by the parents read: "Regret to inform you Sergeant Thomas Edison Elliott, previously reported missing, now reported believed killed in action. Information received from the International Red Cross Society states he was killed on November 8. Letter to follow." The cable was from the service casualty office.
Mr. and Mrs. Elliott were first advised their son, a wireless air gunner, had failed to return following a flight from England.
Sergeant Elliott was born in Windsor and lived here all his life. He enlisted in May, 1940, and went overseas in March.
