Location Information

The town of Beek is situated to the west of Doetinchem off the A12. From the motorway A12 turn off onto the A18 in the direction of Varsseveld. Take the first exit from the A18 at Didam and turn right onto Bievankweg towards Beek. Follow the road to the crossroads in Beek and turn right into Sint Jansgildestraat. Turn immediately right again into Sint Martinusstraat and the churchyard is along here on the left.

World War Two Commonwealth Airmen: United Kingdom 5, Canada 2, New Zealand 1. Total 8.

The Stirling EF330 plane was shot down by a night-fighter (Hptm Wilhelm Dormann 11/NJG1) and crashed at Beek Gem Montferland in the Netherlands, close to the German border.
​ All crew members were killed.
