Ameland is one of the Wadden Islands, which form an archipelago off the north coast of the Netherlands, it is some 15 kms from the mainland and is located in the municipality of Ameland which is in the province of Friesland. The island can be reached from Holwerd on the mainland by ferry. Holwerd is approx 10kms north west of Dokkum and approx 26kms north east of Leeuwarden. The Commonwealth War Graves plot is located immediately to the left of the main entrance. The cemetery address is:- Bramerduinenpad,Ameland.
