Location Information

The village of Ste. Gemme and the hamlet of Moronval, together forming the commune of Ste. Gemme-Moronval, lie some two miles east of Dreux. This is a town on the main road (N.12) from Paris to Western France. The churchyard is about a mile south of the village of Ste. Gemme. In the south corner are the graves of six airmen of the Royal Air Force and one airman of the Royal Australian Air Force who died during the 1939-1945 War.

All seven Airmen were in 15 Squadron and killed on 11th June 1944

Son of John William and May Kathleen Dobson; husband of Una Frances Dobson, of Geraldton, Western Australia.

​His headstone bears the inscription "Loving Husband Of Una, Darling Daddy Of Little Neville. Duty Done"





1811656 Sergeant John Peter Ogilvie Bell, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, aged 20. Son of Morris John and Elizabeth May Bell, of Leatherhead, Surrey. His headstone bears the inscription "Beloved Only Son R. I. P."

1322108 Sergeant Norman Davis, 
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, aged 23. Son of Harold Sydney and Elsie Louise Minnie Davis, of Penge, Kent. His headstone bears the inscription "No Treasure On Earth Can Replace You And Your Memory Will Never Grow Old"

147663 Flying Officer Michael Hills. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. His headstone bears the inscription "Much Loved Brother Of Peter, Sheila, Patrick And Jennifer"

634738 Warrant Officer George Radcliffe, 
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

1652964 Sergeant Thomas Brynnor Rees, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, aged 21. Son of David G. Rees and Blodwen Rees. of Manselton. Swansea. His headstone bears the inscription "I Have Fought A Good Fight, I Have Finished My Course, I Have Kept The Faith"

1318764 Flight Sergeant John William Robinson, 
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, aged 29. Son of Joseph and Ellen E. Robinson, of Bognor Regis, Sussex; husband of L. Robinson. His headstone bears the inscription "In Memory Of A Dear Son. Yet Again We Hope To Meet Thee When The Day Of Life Is Fled"
