BROUÉ COMMUNAL CEMETERY

Location Information

Broué is a village and commune some 11 kilometres east of Dreux and 9 kilometres south-west of Houdan. The Communal Cemetery is on the northern side of the village on the D21 road to the Hamlet of Marolles which is on the main Dreux-Houdan road. In the south-western corner is the Collective Grave of four airmen of the Royal Air Force.

1389734 Flight Sergeant William Francis Asker, Navigator in 83 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th July 1944.

168661 Flying Officer Frank Griffiths, D. F. C. Pilot in 83 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th July 1944, aged 22. Son of Thomas and Minnie Griffiths, of Tranmere, Birkenhead. INSCRIPTION. IN THE MIDST OF LIFE WE ARE IN DEATH. PEACE, PERFECT PEACE.

1415676 Flight Sergeant Martin Glynn James Owen, Air Bomber in 83 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th July 1944.

1365162 Sergeant Clifford Beaty Prophet, Flight Engineer in 83 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th July 1944.
