Location Information

Houdan is a small town 40 kilometres west of Versailles. The communal cemetery is on the west side of the town on the north of the Houdan-Dreux road, and some 300 yards west of the junction of this road with the Dreux-Houdan-Rambouillet road. There are 7 Commonwealth Airmen buried here, 5 from the U. K. and 2 from Canada.

His headstone bears the inscription "Words Fail Our Loss To Tell; In Heaven We Hope To Meet Evermore With Him To Dwell"

Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th June 1944, aged 22. Son of Thomas Patrick and Pauline Lane, of Copnor, Hampshire. His headstone bears the inscription "Rest In Peace"

Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th June 1944.

1610054 Sergeant Albert Wharton, 115 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th June 1944, aged 23. Son of Smith and Mina Wharton, husband of Florence Isabella Wharton, of Syresham, Northamptonshire.
