Location Information

St. Oulph is a village some 30 kilometres north-north-west of Troyes, and on the right (east) bank of the River Seine. In the churchyard, near the south-west corner of the church, is the collective grave of six British, and one Canadian airmen.

RAF Base: Grimsby, Lincolnshire
Unit: 100 Sqdn. Bomber Command
Aircraft: Lancaster Mk I, serial ED561
Target: Torino, Italy
Incident: The aircraft crashed at St. Oulph. There were no survivors.

Flight Sgt. William Reginald CALDWELL, Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve. Aged 24. Son of Samuel and Anne Caldwell; husband of Gwendolen Caldwell of Stretton, Burton-on-Trent.

Sgt. George Thomas CAUSER, Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve. Aged 21. Son of Walter Henry and Kate Alice Causer of Heywood, Norfolk.

Warrant Officer, Class II Joseph Arthur FIRTH, Royal Canadian Air Force, attd. 100th Sqdn. Royal Air Force.

Sgt. Charles Henry GLOVER, Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve. Aged 20. Son of Thomas and Dinah Glover and stepson of Mrs. E. Glover of Walsall, Staffordshire.

Pilot Officer Frederick William HOLMES, Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve. Aged 30. Son of William and Annie Ellen Holmes of Leicester; husband of Dorothy Margaret Holmes of Evington, Leicester.

Flying Officer William Ernest LEDDIMAN, Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve.
