Location Information

St. Martin-le-Gaillard is a village and commune 21 kilometres east of Dieppe, and 6 kilometres south-east of Criel, on the D.16 (Criel to Sept-Meules) road. St. Sulpice is a hamlet north of the village of St. Martin-le-Gaillard, near the junction of the D.16 road and the G.C.22 road from St. Rémy-Boscrocourt. The British grave in this churchyard is south-west of the church.



Burial Details

6394669 Private Henry Charles Lucas, 4th Bn. The Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment), died 10th June 1940, aged 37. Son of Henry and Ada Lucas; husband of Louisa Florence Lucas, of Clapton Park, London. His headstone bears the inscription "We Loved Him, Miss Him And Never Will Forget. Loving Wife, Daughters Maureen & Iris"
