Location Information

St. Gilles is a village and commune some 24 kilometres west of Reims and 30 kilometres South-east of Soissons. From the N31 between Soissons and Reims, at Fismes, take the D386 south to St. Gilles.

​In the churchyard, to the west of the church, are the graves of one British and one Canadian airmen.

Air Gunner in 630 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force
16th March 1944, aged 20. 

Son of George Henry Overholt and of Irene Alberta Overholt (nee MacDonald), of Eastwood, Ontario, Canada.

His headstone bears the inscription "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus"
