Location Information

Courcelles-lès-Gisors is 35 kilometres south-west of Beauvais, and 4 kilometres south-west of Gisors, a small town in the Department of the Eure. The communal cemetery is on the southern side of the village on the road to Boury-en-Vexin.


Burial Details


1874522 Sergeant Peter Vincent Boyter, Air Gunner in 76 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 16th July 1944, aged 19. Son of Robert Boyter and of Violet Boyter (nee Vincent), of Pittenweem, Fife. His headstone bears the inscription "In Loving Remembrance Of Peter, Our Dear Son And Brother. Dad, Mum And Sisters"

1565321 Sergeant Colin Sutherland Menzies, Air Bomber in 76 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer reserve, died 16th July 1944, aged 29. Son of Thomas B. Mnzies and Catherine Menzies, husband of Jean Lawson Menzies, of Kirkcudbright. His headstone bears the inscription "To All Who Strive Faithfully In This Life Is The Gateway To Sunshine"

618349 Sergeant Eric Walter Mickleborough-Saunders, Flight Engineer in 76 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 16th July 1944.

160646 Flying Officer Harry Michael Steward, Pilot in 76 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer reserve, died 16th July 1944, aged 22. Son of Capt. Harry Steward, O.B.E., M.C., J.P., and Sybil M. Steward, of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. His headstone bears the inscription "O Valiant Heart"
