Location Information

Cauville-sur-Mer is a village and commune some 7.50 miles (12 kilometres) north of Le Havre, between the Le Havre-Etretat road (N.40) and the sea. There is a bus service between Le Havre and Etretat on the main road. In the churchyard, near the south wall of the church, is the grave of a British soldier.


Burial Details

14653720 Private Arthur John Ferrall, 7th Bn. Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, died 14th September 1944, aged 19.  
Son of Arthur John and Ellen Ferrall, of Dagenham, Essex. His headstone bears the inscription "God Has Gained We Have Lost, This Boy Of Ours We Loved So Dear"
