On 20 July 1944 a Lancaster LM-185 left Tuddenham airfield at about 23.00 hrs to attack the oil plant in Homberg, Germany, as part of a group of 147 Lancasters and 11 Mosquitoes.
At about 01.45 hrs the Lancaster crashed in the suburbs of Boxtel.
It is thought the plane was shot down by Lt. Josef Forster of 8./Nachtjagdgeschwader 2, who operated from Fliegerhorst Langendiebach and Fliegerhorst Twente.
There were no survivors. Five members of the crew ware buried in this cemetery and the other two in Eindhoven.
