Location Information

Vught is a small town 3 kilometres south of 'S-Hertogenbosch. The cemetery is in St. Elizabeth-straat, and is about 400 metres south-west of the church in the centre of the town. In the north-eastern portion are the graves of 4 soldiers of the British army.


Burial Details

7895621 Serjeant Cecil Thomas Bamford, 1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry, Royal Armoured Corps, died 25th October 1944, aged 24. Son of Cecil Watts Bamford and Elizabeth Bamford, of Daventry, Northamptonshire. His headstone bears the inscription "Let Thy Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him, O Lord"

7894849 Lance Corporal Frederick George Houghton, 1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry, Royal Armoured Corps, died 25th October 1944, aged 24. Son of George Truslove Houghton and Elsie Kate Houghton, of Daventry, Northamptonshire. His headstone bears the inscription "Safe In The Arms Of Everlasting Love"

14242732 Trooper Kenneth Mudge, 
1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry, Royal Armoured Corps, died 25th October 1944, aged 22. Son of Henry and Alice Ann Mudge, of Liverpool. His headstone bears the inscription Sadly Missed But Never Forgotten By Mother, Dad And Harry. "God's Will Be Done"

14273036 Private Vilmo Savelli, 7th Bn. Black Watch (Royal Highlanders), died 26th October 1944, aged 22. Son of Vittorio Savelli, and of Vittoria Savelli, of Glasgow. His headstone bears the inscription "Though Your Body Is Far Away Your Spirit Is Enshrined In My Heart, Mother"
