Location Information

Biéville-en-Auge is a village and commune 22 kilometres east-south-east of Caen, and 20 kilometres west of Lisieux. It lies south of the N.13 Caen to Lisieux road. There is 1 Commonwealth burial of the 1939-1945 war, immediately behind the War Memorial near the entrance to the churchyard.


Burial Details

4535024 Lance Corporal Bertram Wood, The Hallamshire Bn. York and Lancaster Regiment, died 18th August 1944, aged 33. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robert Wood; husband of Ann Wood, of Denaby Main, Yorkshire. His headstone bears the inscription "Thy Will Be Done"
