Location Information

Quétiéville is a village and commune 14 miles (22 kilometres) south-east of Caen, 20 kilometres south-west of Lisieux, and 3 miles (5 kilometres) southwest of Crevecoeur-en-Auge, which is a village on the N.13 Caen to Lisieux road. There is 1 Commonwealth burial of the 1939-1945 war here, about mid-way between the main entrance to the churchyard and the west door of the church.


Burial Details

1384907 Flight Sergeant John James Rowland, Pilot in 184 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 7th June 1944, aged 23. Son of John Allinson Rowland and Catherine Fraces Rowland, of Tooting, Surrey. His headstone bears the inscription "In Loving Memory. Into The Mosaic Of Victory We Place Our Precious Gem. R. I. P."
