AUVERS-SUR-OISE COMMUNAL CEMETERY

Location Information
​

Auvers-sur-Oise communal cemetery is on high ground North of the town on the Pontoise-Meriel road.

There is 1 Commonwealth burial of the 1914-1918 war and 3 of the 1939-1945 war here, near the Southern boundary.

The cemetery also contains the burials of the painter Vincent Van Gogh and his Brother Théo.
 
World War One Burial

5363 Private Harry Cosson, 59th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F., died 1st July 1916, aged 18.  Son of Henry and Mary Ann Cosson, of Henry St., Korumburra, Victoria, Australia. Native of Gippsland. (Grave is near North-East (far left) corner).


World War Two Burials

1819771 Sergeant John Marwood, Air Gunner in 207 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th July 1944, aged 20. Son of Charles William and Maggie Marwood, of Middle Rasen, Lincolnshire.

1005463 Sergeant Richard Gerard Seddon, Air Gunner in 207 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th July 1944, aged 22. Son of Richard Henry and Martha Seddon, of St. Helens, Lancashire.

152464 Flying Officer Charles Edward Stamp, Pilot in 207 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th July 1944, aged 34. Son of Francis Thompson Stamp and Alice Stamp, of York; husband of Doris Harriett Stamp, of York.
