AIGLEMONT COMMUNAL CEMETERY

Location Information

Aiglemont is a village and commune in the Department of the Ardennes some 3 miles (5 kilometres) north-east of Mezieres. 


Historical Information

The cemetery is about 200 yards east of the church. In the eastern part are the graves of four airmen, three of whom belonged to the Royal Air Force and one to the Royal Canadian Air Force.



Burial Details

520376 Sergeant William Richard Hunt, Flight Engineer in 35 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 19th May 1942, aged 32. Son of Richard and Harriett Hunt, of Hertingfordbury, Hertfordshire.

R/69561 Flight Sergeant Gordon Kennedy, Air Gunner in 35 (R.A.F.) Sqdn., Royal Canadian Air Force, died 19th May 1942, aged 21. Son of Charles John and Isabell Kennedy.

655741 Sergeant Sidney Richard Stickney, Pilot in 35 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 19th May 1942, aged 26. Son of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Stickney.

102574 Flying Officer Ronald Walter Valters, Pilot in 35 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 19th May 1942, aged 21. Son of Walter John Charles and Mabel Valters, of Harrow, Middlesex.
