Location Information

Aiglemont is a village and commune in the Department of the Ardennes some 3 miles (5 kilometres) north-east of Mezieres. 


Historical Information

The cemetery is about 200 yards east of the church. In the eastern part are the graves of four airmen, three of whom belonged to the Royal Air Force and one to the Royal Canadian Air Force.

520376 Sergeant William Richard Hunt, Flight Engineer in 35 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 19th May 1942, aged 32. Son of Richard and Harriett Hunt, of Hertingfordbury, Hertfordshire. His headstone bears the inscription "O Brave, True Heart! God Bless Thee, Whereso'er Thou Art In His Wide Universe"

655741 Sergeant Sidney Richard Stickney, Pilot in 35 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 19th May 1942, aged 26. Son of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Stickney.
