2204552 Flight Sergeant John Eason Sharpley, Air Gunner in 100 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 1st July 1944, aged 19. Son of William Sharpley and Marion Nair Easton Weir.
Shot down by a night fighter at Vouzon 18 Miles Southwest of Orleans during a raid on the Vierzon Railway Yards. Mid-upper gunner flying aboard the "Lancaster" LM621 HW-C of the 100th squadron of the RAF.
