Location Information

The village and commune of Villampuy is 8.4 miles (14 kilometres) east-south-east of Châteaudun, a small town on the D.955 road from Châteaudun to Orléans. The communal cemetery is about 100 yards west of the church. Near the north-western corner, against the western wall is the grave of an airman of the Royal Air Force.


Burial Details


159668 Flying Officer Stephen Pickering Wright, 432 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 26th July 1944, aged 23. Son of Stephen Pickering Wright and Mary Wright, of Slough, Buckinghamshire; husband of Rose Florence Wright.
His headstone bears the inscription "To Live In The Hearts Of Those You Love Is Never To Die"
