Sassetot-le-Mauconduit is a village and commune 25 miles (40 kilometres) west of Dieppe, 10 miles (16 kilometres) south-west of St. Valery-en-Caux, and 4 miles (6 kilometres) north-west of Ouainville, which is a village on the Cany-Barville to Fécamp road (N.25). There is a bus service from Dieppe to Fecamp. The communal cemetery is on the north-west outskirts of the village, 600 yards from the church, up a road leading left off the D.79 road from Sassetot to St. Pierre-en-Port and Fécamp. Near the eastern boundary of the cemetery is a large family tomb; and near this is the grave of an officer of the Royal Navy.

Sub-Lieutenant Donald Charles William MacInnes, H. M. S. Swift, Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, died 24th June 1944, aged 21. Son of Mr. and Mrs. John MacInnes, of Sevenoaks, Kent.
