Location Information

Pont l'Éveque is a small town 17 kilometres north of Lisieux on the Lisieux to Honfleur road. The Communal Cemetery is on the road from Pont l'Éveque to Caen and is about 2 kilometres south-west of the centre of the town. 

There are 4 Commonwealth burials of the 1939-1945 war here, 1 of which is unidentified, located near and west of the large crucifix in the centre of the cemetery.

Air Fighting Development Unit, Royal Air Force
31st July 1943, aged 24. 

​Son of Hugh Findlay MacLachlan, and of Helen Mac Lachlan (nee Orr-Ewing), of East Grinstead, Sussex. His brother Gordon Baird MacLachlan also fell and is buried in 
Plouguerneau Communal Cemetery

132983 Flying Officer Lawrence Gerard Purcell, Wireless Operator/Air Gunner in 226 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 28th August 1944, aged 35. Son of John and Annie Purcell, of Liverpool.
