Location Information

Martigny is a village 8 kilometres south-east of Dieppe on the north-east side of the Dieppe-St Saens road. In the north-east corner of the churchyard are the graves of 3 British soldiers.


Burial Details


3594236 Serjeant James Cremins, 1st Bn. Black Watch (Royal Highlanders), died 10th June 1940, aged 33. Son of James and Elizabeth Cremins. His headstone bears the inscription "R. I. P. Sacred Heart Of Jesus Have Mercy On His Soul"

2882942 Private Walter Forsyth, Gordon Highlanders, died 12th June 1940, aged 22. Son of Alexander and Margaret Forsyth, of Aberdeen; husband of Isabella Forsyth, of Aberdeen. His headstone bears the inscription "In Loving Memory"

2882958 Private Lawrence Morgan Hume, Gordon Highlanders, died 19th June 1940, aged 21.
