Location Information

Marly Gomont is a village on the south bank of the River Oise. It lies 40 kilometres east-north-east of St Quentin and almost 14 kilometres east of the town of Guise. The Churchyard is located in the centre of the village.



History Information

Near the north-eastern corner of the churchyard are the graves of four British airmen.


Burial Details


1454411 Sergeant Alan Griffiths, Navigator in 101 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 9th July 1943, aged 21. Son of John Richard and Eva Griffiths, of Castleford, Yorkshire.

1382585 Sergeant Samuel Jenkins, Wireless Operator/Air Gunner in 101 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 9th July 1943, aged 22. Son of Samuel Charles and Louisa Ellen Jenkins. of Hackney, London.

1716135 Sergeant Glyn Weatherley Lloyd, Flight Engineer in 101 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 9th July 1943, aged 17. Son of Stanley Edgar and Doris Hilda Lloyd, of Guildford, Surrey.

140882 Pilot Officer Geoffrey Cuming Parker, Air Gunner in 101 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 9th July 1943, aged 36. Son of Sydney Wills Parker and Edith Parker; husband of Irene Isabel Parker, of Immingham. Lincolnshire.
