Location Information

Longueil is a village and commune 7.50 miles (12 kilometres) west of Dieppe, and lies north of the N.25 road from Dieppe to St. Valery-en-Caux. Buses run on this main road to Dieppe and St. Valery. In the churchyard, near the south-east corner, are the graves of 7 airmen; 5 belonging to the Royal Air Force, 1 to the Royal Canadian Air Force, and 1 to the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

1192828 Sergeant Ronald Edward Miles, Flight Engineer  in 78 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 13th June 1944, aged 23. Son of Edward Charles and Jessica Gertrude Miles; husband of Alice Irene Miles, of Hawtonville, Newark, Nottinghamshire. His headstone bears the inscription "Never Will His Memory Fade, Sweet Thoughts Ever Linger Where He Is Laid"

1625934 Sergeant Frank Edwin Spinks, Air Gunner in 78 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 13th June 1944, aged 20. Son of Frank Alfred and Elsie May Spinks, of Southfields, Surrey. His headstone bears the inscription "In Proud And Ever Cherished Memory Of Our Loved Only Son Frank"

1301516 Sergeant Frederick George Tomlinson, Air Bomber in 78 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 13th June 1944, aged 23. Son of Frederick Wilson Tomlinson and of Phoebe Amelia Tomlinson (nee Shipley); husband of Mary Tomlinson, of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. His headstone bears the inscription "At The Going Down Of The Sun And In The Morning We Will Remember Him"
