Location Information

Limmen is 9 kilometres south of Alkmaar, and 28 kilometres north-west of Amsterdam. The nearest railway station is Castricum, 5 kilometres to the south-west. The churchyard surrounds the church, which is on the eastern outskirts of the village and some 200 yards east of the main Alkmaar-Haarlem road. In the north-eastern corner are the graves of airmen, from the United Kingdom and from Canada.

Warren Robert Zeller
Pilot in 418 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force
9th September 1944, aged 25. 


Son of Walter P. and Nettie E. Zeller, of Westmount, Montreal, Province of Quebec, Canada; husband of Janet Foster Zeller, of Westmount.

His headstone bears the inscription "O Valiant Dead, Take Comfort Where You Lie. So Sweet To Live! Magnificent To Die"

154642 Flying Officer Herbert Reginald Tribbeck, Navigator in 418 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 9th September 1944, aged 28. Son of James Henry and Gertrude Tribbeck; husband of Doris Maud Tribbeck, of Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex. His headstone bears the inscription "There's Some Corner Of A Foreign Field That Is For Ever England"
