Location Information

Juaye-Mondaye is a village and commune 5 miles (8 kilometres) south of Bayeux. It is about mid-way between two roads; the D.6 from Bayeux to Tilly-sur-Seulles and Villers-Bocage, and the D.67, a by-road from Rayeux to Villers-Bocage. The cemetery is south-east of Juaye, on the road to the hamlet of Mondaye. There is 1 Commonwealth burial of the 1939-1945 war here, west of, and near to, the entrance gate.


Burial Details

104556 Pilot Officer Albert George Powell, Pilot in 245 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 4th June 1942, aged 26. Son of Albert and Edith Anne Powell, of Cardiff; husband of Marjorie Miles Powell, of Cardiff. His headstone bears the inscription In Memory Of Bert. Beloved Husband Of Marjorie And Daddy Of Patricia. "Until We Meet"
