Location Information

Houville-en-Vexin is a village and commune 30 kilometres west of Gisors. The churchyard is in the middle of the village, and the one Commonwealth war grave is some five yards north of the centre of the southern wall, and about twice that distance south of the church tower.

8th June 1940, aged 28. 

Son of Herbert and Kathleen Kirkcaldie, of Wellington City, New Zealand; husband of Esma Mae Kirkcaldie, of Lagos, Nigeria. LL.M. (New Zealand).

His headstone bears the inscription "Vestigia Nulla Retrorsum"
