Location Information

Amfreville-sous-les-Monts is a commune in the Eure detartment in Haute-Normandie, Northern France. The village is on high ground overlooking the river Seine.

The church and churchyard are located at the intersection of the D20 and D19, half way up the chalk escarpment overlooking the village and river.

The single Commonwealth war grave is located at the front of the churchyard.



Burial Details

14438354 Private Albert Rumbles Baxter, 2nd Bn. Gordon Highlanders, died 27th August 1944, aged 18. Son of Albert and Emily Rumbles, of Cullen, Banffshire; grandson and ward of Mrs. E. Baxter, of Cullen. His headstone bears the inscription "Ever Remembered"
