Location Information
Granges sur Vologne is a village in the Department of Vosges, 10 kilometres north-west of Gerardmer on the D423. The Communal Cemetery is in the centre of the village. The graves are in the middle of the cemetery to the left hand side.
Visiting Information
To the north-east of the entrance are the graves of seven airmen, five belonging to the Royal Air Force, one to the Royal Canadian Air Force and one to the Australian Air Force.
Historical Information
The seven crew members from 166 Squadron took off from Kirmington at 21;25 on 27th April 1944 when their plane (Lancaster III ND825) was shot down near Granges-sur-Vologne in France. All seven were killed.
