GEMERT WAR MEMORIAL GRAVE

GPS coordinates: Latitude: 51.55386, Longitude: 5.68212

Location Information

Gemert is 7 kilometres south of 'S-Hertogenbosch. The village War Memorial is in the grounds of the Roman Catholic Monastery and overlooks the village square. In a vault beneath this memorial 1 British soldier is buried, alongside three Dutch soldiers.

11th December 1944, aged 19.



Son of Laban and Nellie Morris, of Abertridwr, Glamorgan.


Peter was involved in a crash on the Beek en Donk–Gemert road. Standing in the turret of an armoured vehicle, it collided with a car that was stationary in a bend on the road. The vehicle overturned and Morris was instantly killed.
