Location Information

Fatouville-Grestain is a village and commune 8 kilometres east of Honfleur and 14 kilometres north of Beuzeville.

The churchyard lies to the east of the village. South-west of the entrance and south of the church will be found the three Commonwealth war graves.



Burial Details

5381460 Private Mervyn Charles Clapton, 2nd (Airborne) Bn., Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry, died 27th August 1944, aged 27. Son of Charles and Sarah Clapton; husband of Queenie May Clapton, of Coleford, Gloucestershire. His headstone bears the inscription "In Memory Of My Dear Husband. As Long As We Live We Shall Treasure His Name. Queenie"

5620801 Private Eric Lloyd Lockyer, 12th (Airborne) Bn., Devonshire Regiment, died 29th August 1944, aged 23. Son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Lockyer, of Sidford, Devon. His headstone bears the inscription "God Be With You Until We Meet Again"

14625002 Private Charles Ramsey Plumridge,  12th (Airborne) Bn., Devonshire Regiment, died 26th August 1944, aged 19.
