Location Information

Ellecourt is a village and commune 60 kilometres north-east of Rouen, and 4 kilometres north-north-west of Aumale, which is a small town on the Amiens-Rouen road (N.29) about 60 kilometres) south-east of Dieppe. 
​
The communal cemetery is some 300 metres south-east of the church. A few yards south of the crucifix in the centre of the cemetery are the graves of 7 airmen.

Casualties: Australia 4, United Kingdom 3. Total 7.

​1399195 Sergeant Arthur Charles Brown, Air Bomber in 463 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 5th July 1944, aged 21. Son of Walter William and Alice May Brown, of Colchester, Essex. His headstone bears the inscription "Faithful Unto Death"

421887 Flying Officer Alfred Kyrwood Carter, Pilot in 463 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, died 5th July 1944, aged 31. Son of Walter Alfred and Marjorie Aster Sybil Carter, of Bullaburra, New South Wales, Australia. His headstone bears the inscription "Our"Fred" He Gave His All"

429881 Flight Sergeant George Edward Dowling, Air Gunner in 463 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, died 5th July 1944, aged 20.

 Son of Thomas Augustus and Kathleen Gertrude Maher, of Maroubra, New South Wales, Australia. His headstone bears the inscription "His Duty Fearlessly And Nobly Done. Ever Remembered"

1394301 Flight Sergeant Robert Henry Norman, Navigator in 463 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 5th July 1944, aged 24.
 Son of Thomas Hodgson Norman and Mabel Mary Norman, of Eltham, London. His headstone bears the inscription "Many A Heartache And A Silent Tear Ever A Beautiful Memory of "Bob" We Loved So Dear"

1653038 Sergeant Barnard John Watts, Flight Engineer in 463 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 5th July 1944, aged 20. Son of Alfred James Watts and Maud H. Watts, of Port Talbot, Glamorgan. His headstone bears the inscription "He Gaveth, He Taketh Away"
