Location Information
Douvres-la-Délivrande (Douvres) Churchyard is situated in the centre of the village of Douvres, about 13 kilometres north of Caen.
From Caen take the D7 to Douvres. Go past La Délivrande War Cemetery then turn left at the first roundabout, then left again at the second roundabout into Rue de L'Eglise which, as the name indicates, leads you to the church. When facing the church, enter the cemetery by the small cemetery entrance on the right. Car parking is available in front of the church.
Historical Information
This churchyard contains two burial sof the Second World War, that of a New Zealand airman and Polish airman.
Burial Details
415687 Sergeant Thomas William Jackson Denholm, Pilot in 485 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force, died 13th April 1943. Son of Albert E and Ethel V Denholm of Napier, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.
Plutonowy Jan Lesniewicz, Polish Air Force, died 12th April 1943.
