Location Information

Bretenière is a village and commune 10 kilometres south-east of Dijon.

​The collective grave of British and Canadian airmen is to the right of the entrance of the churchyard.

Casualties: Canada 5, United Kingdom 1. Total 6.



Flight Details:

Base: R.A.F. East Moor, Yorkshire
Unit: 432 Sqdn. Bomber Command
Aircraft: Halifax Mk VII, serial NP688
Target: Stuttgart
Incident: Crashed at Bretenière, Côte d'Or. Six of the crew died but Flying Off. G. R. Ellis of the Royal Canadian Air Force was taken prisoner and survived the War.
