Location Information

Auger-St. Vincent is a village and commune 56 kilometres south-east of Beauvais and 8 kilometres west of Crepy-en-Valois. The communal cemetery, which lies on the outskirts of the village on the road to Nanteul, contains the graves of 6 airmen, 4 belonging to the Royal Air Force and 2 to the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Unit: 619 Sqdn. Bomber Command
Aircraft: Lancaster Mk III, serial JB186
Target: Revigny, France
Incident: The aircraft crashed at Auger-St. Vincent on 19th July 1944 and six of the seven crew died. Sgt. B. G. Lewis, R.C.A.F. escaped.

1235097 Sergeant William Frederick Hinnett, Air Gunner in 619 Squadron, Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve, died 19th July 1944, aged 22. Son of Harry and May Hinett; husband of Dorothy Joan Hinett of Stamford, Lincs. His headstone bears the inscription "Treasured Memories Of Our Darling. R. I. P. Joan, Ann, Mum And Dad"

Arnold Marper, Wireless Operator in 619 Squadron, Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve, died 19th July 1944, aged 21. Son of Thomas Alfred and Amy Marper of Gimsby, Lincs.​ His headstone bears the inscription "Strait Is The Gate, And The Narrow Is The Way, Which Leadeth Unto Life"
