Location Information

Wijchen is a village about 10 kilometres south-west of Nijmegen, and 3 kilometres west of 's-Hertogenbosch. The cemetery is next to the church, which is in the centre of the village. The two Commonwealth war graves are situated on the right side of the churchyard.

21st September 1944, aged 21.

​Son of James and Rose Elizabeth Bode, of Ward End, Birmingham.

His headstone bears the inscription "My Beloved Son Safe In The Arms Of Jesus, Safe On His Gentle Breast "Until"

1384994 Flight Sergeant William Henry Skewes, 190 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 21st September 1944, aged 23. Son of William Henry and Gladys Mary Skewes, of Camborne, Cornwall. His headstone bears the inscription "Morning Thoughts Evening Memories Everlasting Love Of A Dear Son. R. I. P."
