WIERINGERMEER (MIDDENMEER) GENERAL CEMETERY

Location Information

Middenmeer, in the commune of Wieringermeer, is 57 Kilometres north-north-east of Amsterdam, and 30 kilometres north-east of Alkmaar. It is about 1 kilometre west of the main Amsterdam to Leeuwarden road. 

The cemetery is in the centre of the village in the road called Kirkoflaan. The graves are in a prominent position facing the entrance.

Burial Details


1339912 Sergeant Edward Raymond Bray, Bomb Aimer in 158 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 26th July 1943, aged 20. Son of Edward Bray, and of Alice Maud Bray, of East Ham, Essex.

1003148 Sergeant Raymond Anthony Kennedy, Air Gunner in 75 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 23rd June 1943, aged 28. Son of Patrick Michael and Florence Ann Kennedy, of St. Marylebone, London.

1575497 Sergeant Kenneth Richard Larkin, Pilot in 158 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 26th July 1943, aged 22. Son of Richard and Ada Larkin, of Erdington, Birmingham.

1271610 Sergeant Roy Desmond Raven, Wireless Operator in 158 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 26th July 1943, aged 21. Son of Frederick William and Gertrude Florence Raven, of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.

1522531 Sergeant James Stewart, Flight Engineer in 158 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 26th July 1943, aged 20. Son of James and Annie Stewart, of West Kyo, Co. Durham.

415569 Flight Sergeant Percy Fisher Watson, Navigator in 158 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force, died 26th July 1943, aged 28. Son of George Daniel Watson and of Margaret Watson (nee Little), of Ngapara, Otago, New Zealand; husband of Barbara Calder Watson, of Oamaru, Otago.

1166714 Sergeant Ronald Joseph Wyatt-Matthews, Air Gunner in 158 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 26th July 1943.
