VIEIL-HESDIN COMMUNAL CEMETERY

Location Information

Vieil-Hesdin is a village 48 kilometres north-west of Arras and 5 kilometres south-east of Hesdin, a small town on the road from Arras to Cambrai. The Communal Cemetery is north of the village on the road to the neighbouring village of Le Parcq. The graves of 3 soldiers from the United Kingdom are near the south-western corner.


Burial Details


1508661 Gunner Edward William Barlow, 6 Battery, 2nd Searchlight Regiment, Royal Artillery, died 21st May 1940, aged 21. Son of Edward William and Lilian Barlow, of Birmingham; husband of Ellen Barlow, of Birmingham.

1509044 Lance Bombardier Reginald Lloyd George Hatch, 8th Battery, 2nd Searchlight Regiment, Royal Artillery, died 21st May 1940, aged 21.

1509651 Gunner John Thomas Timms, 6 Battery, 2nd Searchlight Regiment, Royal Artillery, died 19th May 1940, aged 21. Son of John Thomas Timms and Rose Timms, of Handsworth, Birmingham; husband of Phyllis Timms, of Handsworth, Birmingham.
