Ashford (known locally as Ashford-in-the-Water) is a Derbyshire village situated on the A6 about two miles west-north-west of Bakewell. Near the north-west corner of the churchyard is the grave of a solider who fell in the Great War.

27263 Private Jasper Johnson, M. M. 2nd Bn. Hampshire Regiment, died 1st August 1918, aged 21. Son of Jasper and Annie Johnson, of Woodland View, Ashford.
