Location Information

Tintagel is a small town located on the North coast of Cornwall. The Churchyard is located by turning left at the Cornishman Inn and following the road to the end where there is a National Trust car park.


Burial Details

J/52064 Boy 2nd Class Charles Henry Hancock, H. M. S. Impregnable, Royal Navy, died 1st May 1916, aged 15. 
Son of Annie Hancock, of Trewarmett, Tintagel, Cornwall, and the late Edward Charles Hancock.


15854 Corporal Thomas Teague, 7th Bn. Royal Dublin Fusiliers transferred to 332340 Labour Corps, died 2nd October 1917.

75225 Private J. Toms, 253rd Protection Company, Royal Defence Corps, died 6th November 1918, aged 33.

Commemoration of Two Servicemen from the same family killed during World War One

400079 Rifleman Francis Cann, 1st/8th Bn. Hampshire Regiment, died 2nd November 1917, aged 19. Son of Mrs. Lilian Cann, of Tintagel, Cornwall. Commemorated on the Jerusalem Memorial in Israel. (Clicking on the above link will take you to our WW1 site)

78811 Gunner Thomas Youlton Cann, 158th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, died 26th October 1917, aged 33. Son of Edmund and Emily Cann, of Tintagel, Cornwall. Buried in Divisional Post Cemetery and Extension in Belgium in Plot No. I. B. 10.The Inscription reads "Beloved by all that knew him". (Clicking on the above link will take you to our WW1 site)
