Location Information

Silsoe is a village located in the country of Bedfordshire in England. The Churchyard is in the middle of the village.

Historical Information

The churchyard contains six burials of the First World War and two of the Second World War.


World War One Burials

339 Private J. Cunningham, Seaforth Highlanders, died 2nd February 1915.

7299 Private John Dalton, 1st Bn. Somerset Light Infantry, died 7th December 1914, aged 32.
 Husband of Druscilla Campbell (formerly Dalton), of 5, Skinner St., Swansea. Born at Swansea.

4026 Private George Edward Dorman, 3rd Bn. 
Australian Infantry, A.I.F., died 14th July 1916.

10680 Lance Corporal Loftus Frank Foster, 2nd Bn. King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment), died 9th May 1915, aged 22.

Son of Mrs. Sarah J. Lawrence, of 8, Queen St., Dover. His headstone bears the inscription "Thy Will Be Done R. I. P."

17448 Gunner E. Hand, 
Royal Field Artillery, died 14th July 1915.

T4/236740 Private G. C. Petty, 
Army Service Corps, died 15th March 1918.


World War Two Burials

128700 Flight Lieutenant John Donald Craig, 
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 23rd April 1946, aged 39. Son of James Archibald and Ursula Marie Craig, of Eversholt.

11430394 Private Hubert Charles Dennis, 
Pioneer Corps, died 13th June 1946, aged 40. Son of John Thomas Dennis and Hephzibah Dennis, of Silsoe; husband of Doris Dennis, of Silsoe.
