Rubrouck is a village and commune about 21 kilometres south of Dunkirk and 10 kilometres north-west of Cassel, a town at the junction of the N.16 and N.42 roads. In this churchyard, about 9 metres from the north-western corner of the church, is the grave of a British airman.

144930 Pilot Officer Ronald Richard Frank Durne, Navigator in Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 30th August 1943, aged 23. Son of Benjamin Frank and Dorothy Durne, of Shepherd's Bush, London.
