Rety is a village and commune 16 kilometres north-east of Boulogne-sur-Mer, and 6 kilometres south-east of Marquise, a small town on the N.1 road from Boulogne to Calais. The communal cemetery is at the south-eastern end of the village. Near the centre of the cemeteries northern boundary is the joint grave of 2 British airmen.

562397 Sergeant Jack Leslie Alexander, Observer in 40 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 25th May 1940, aged 28. Son of George Thomas Alexander, and of Florence Mabel Alexander, of Southampton.
551547 Leading Aircraftman Dennis Goffe, Wireless Operator in 40 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 25th May 1940, aged 20. Son of Frederick Ernest Goffe, and of Ethel Louisa Goffe, of Wargrave, Berkshire.
