Location Information
The village of Provin is 18 kilometres south-west of Lille and 10 kilometres north-east of Lens, which is on the main Lille-Arras road (N.25). The communal cemetery is on a minor road loop on the northern side of the road through the village (D.39), and lies on the north-western side of Provin. Adjacent to the northern boundary wall are the graves of 2 soldiers from the United Kingdom.

4337382 Warrant Officer Class III (P.S.M.) William Norman Thompson, 9th Bn. Durham Light Infantry, died 26th May 1940, aged 37. Son of Leonard and Jane Thompson; husband of Elsie Thompson, of Felling, Gateshead, Co. Durham.
INSCRIPTION. IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY BELOVED HUSBAND NORMAN. "WE WILL REMEMBER THEM".
