Location Information
Grytten is about 1 kilometre from Andalsnes. On reaching Andalsnes when travelling north along the E136, take the left hand turn signed to the village of Veblungsnes. After crossing the bridge the church is on the right.
History Information
Grytten Churchyard contains three Commonwealth burials, two of them unidentified. They are all buried next to each other.
Burial Details
C/HD/X21 Ordinary Seaman Albert Verdun Petch, H. M. S. Curacoa, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, died 24th April 1940.
Son of Winifred May Petch; husband of Mary Ellen Jane Petch, of Hastings, Sussex. His brother Roy Victor also fell and is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.
