Location Information
Moyenmoutier is a small town and commune 41 kilometres north-east of Epinal, and some 10 kilometres north-north-west of St Die. The town is situated on the road which runs to the village of St Blaise from the main Luneville to St Die road. The communal cemetery lies on the south-east side of the town, and contains, south-west of the monument on the central path, the grave of one British soldier.

304006 Lieutenant James Lovitt Silly, 2nd Special Air Service Regiment, A. A. C. Died 22nd October 1944, aged 20. Son of Benjamin James Silly M. C. & D. F. C. and Frances Fanny Silly, of Berkhamsted. Hertfordshire. His father also fell and is buried in Sai Wan War Cemetery in Hong Kong. His headstone bears the inscription "Splendid You Passed O Valiant Heart Into The Light That Shall Never Fade"
